Alfresco Grand Cruise, Brahmaputra – Guwahati Review

I recently experienced the Alfresco Grand Cruise on the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati, opting for the sunset cruise which begins around 4:30 PM. It turned out to be a relaxing and visually rewarding experience.

The ambiance is pleasant, especially as the cruise moves along the vast Brahmaputra during golden hour. The highlight, without question, is the stunning sunset view, which creates a perfect backdrop for photos. One of the standout moments is when the cruise passes beneath the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu, offering some great photography opportunities.

On arrival, we were seated comfortably and provided with the menu. The selection includes a variety of cocktails and a limited range of starters, including non-vegetarian options. We tried chicken chili and French fries along with cocktails like Sex on the Beach, Mojito, and Screwdriver. The food and drinks were satisfying and well-prepared.

Service was smooth and timely, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Pricing is moderate considering the setting and experience offered.

Overall, it's a great choice if you're looking for a calm evening with good food, drinks, and a scenic river view in Guwahati.

BEAUTIFUL experience. We booked mid-level seats but were fortunately upgraded to the top level. It took a while for everyone to board but when we finally embarked, it was at a beautiful time. Just before sunset. So when we were in the water, we experienced some beautiful views. The staff was especially helpful and dedicated to satisfying the patrons.

Shortly after we left the shore, we started hearing old hindi music playing from the speakers. We thought nothing of it, and to our surprise, it was LIVE. A singer was singing so well that we assumed naturally it was the recorded original playing.

The top level of the cruise was filled with people who wanted to take pictures, but each person was so kind and respectful. Truly reflecting the nature of people in Guwahati. Tourists, locals, oldies, young chaps, all were on board.

It was an extremely amazing experience!

If you are in Guwahati, I would highly recommend that you take this evening cruise. It is really nice and reasonably priced and the cruise is for about one hour or so. They give you a very nice ride along the banks of Brahmaputra River, and if you are lucky, then you will catch a very beautiful sunset. They offer food and drinks on the cruise. If you take the upper deck reservation, then you will be able to see very scenic view, but if you're looking for some dance party, then you should take the middle deck. If you have extra money, then you can also book a private boat to go around the banks of Brahmaputra River. I saw when we were on boarding during the evening time for our evening Cruise. There is also an option for night cruise. you can check and pre-book easily on the website.

One of the best ways to experience the Brahmaputra at sunset. The cruise offers beautiful river views, open decks, live music and a relaxed atmosphere. The sunset cruise lasts around 60 minutes, while the dinner cruise adds a buffet and Assamese cultural performances including Bihu and Sattriya. The changing river views and city lights make the experience especially memorable.

The cruise began with a refreshing welcome drink and delicious starters, followed by a tasty buffet dinner offering a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The experience was enriched by captivating live performances, including local folk dances, insights into the region's history and culture, and enjoyable live music. The food was delicious and the overall experience was excellent value for money. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Ordered Beer, Triple Sunset Mocktail and Dry Chilli Chicken. Service was fast and food was good. Ambience was great during sunset. Staffs are generous. It was a 1 hour ride. Everyone enjoyed a lot. We booked tickets for Upper deck for best view in advance online. Our seats were reserved for us when we arrived so, didn't had to wait. The cruise was very well maintained by authority. Live performance was happening in middle deck in first half. They also played music for all guests later. It was definitely worth visiting.

Alfresco Grand offers an excellent river cruise experience on the Brahmaputra, with a beautifully relaxing sunset and sundowner vibe. The around‑one‑hour cruise is peaceful and unhurried, giving you plenty of time to soak in the views and the golden hour light over the river. The onboard staff provide a good variety of food and beverage options, making it easy to enjoy snacks or drinks while you sail. Overall, it's a lovely, compact way to unwind and see Guwahati from the water. Food price is not included in the ticket.

The cruise ship was clean and well maintained, they had a bar on the deck along with minimal food options — on the sunset cruise. I got the middle deck and felt it was better than the top deck as the bar and performance were held in the middle deck. The top deck also gets direct sun!!

River cruise experience. We booked a sunset cruise. 1 hour drive. Prices are different for upper and middle deck. Upper deck has good view. Food served in cruise is also good. We ordered — veg — Hakka noodles, masala papad, sandwich and ice cream. Overall a good experience.

Very pleasant and ambitious restaurant in this cruise. Although dinner price is bit high, yet an unique experience. Cultural dance and music are perks. Food is very tasty and mini bar is also here. Worth visit.
